25 September 2017
Singapore, 25 September 2017 – Telin's Chief Technology Officer (CTO), Nanang Hendarno was one of the speakers at the Submarine Networks World 2017 event at Suntec Convention & Exhibition Center, Singapore on 25 to 27 September 2017. This year, the event took the theme "New Network Topologies for a Next-Gen Internet".
The purpose of this event is preparatioin towards the emergence of a new topology on the boom of increased bandwidth usage. In addition, the event is also as a forum for sharing knowledge about the underwater cable system architecture as the utilization of investment and solutions of various information technology updates. The event is equipped with a sharing regarding how to manage ROADM (Reconfigurable Optical Add-Drop Multiplexer), improve and reduce the risk of damage.
On this occasion, Nanang Hendarno discussed about Telin nine submarine cable systems including the SEA-ME-WE 5 and SEA-US. Meanwhile, the submarine cable that being worked on is IGG, that will connect between SEA-ME-WE 5 and SEA-US, and estimates to be completed in the third quarter of 2018.
According to Nanang, Telin as an international-class telco operator continues to strive to provide the best for customers, through discovering the best network topology of high-density bandwidth in order to fulfill good customer experience. Currently, Telkom Group has implemented ROADM and OTN terrestial network technology that prove to provide the best service.
The valuable lesson received from terrestrial network architecture is bandwidth flexibility than ROADM that resulted to the challenging effort by the operators to serve customers. It also affecting the service activation where previously it took 6 to 9 months to upgrade the submarine cable capacity. Therefore, rapid provisioning and flexibility become the key point of improvement
At the event, Telin opened a booth with variety of Company information and rountable discussion sessions.
In addition to Telin's CTO, Nanang Hendarno other speakers are Vice President, Global Submarine Solutions Ciena, Ian Clarke, SVP and Chief Technology Officer, Tata Communications Transformation Services, Chalapathi TV (Chala), Chief Technology Officer , Deep Blue Cable, Alasdir Wilkie and moderated by Global Optical Architect, Facebook, Dr. Steve Grubb.***
