London, 25 October 2017 – After receiving the Project of the Year - Subsea award at the Global Carrier Awards (GCA) in Paris last year, this time the SEA-ME-WE 5 (South East Asia - Middle East - Western Europe 5) Cable Communications System where Telin is one of the consortium member won the Best Subsea Innovation award at the 2017 Global Carrier Awards. In addition, the consortium of submarine cable systems is also awarded as one of the most innovative technologies on 3 continents (Asia, Europe and Africa).
This year is the 13th year of GCA, as part of the Capacity Europe conference, conducted this event that was attended by more than 400 members of the ICT community to celebrate the achievements of the international telecommunications business industry.
With a total submission reached over 225 entries this year, all categories are judged by independent panel of telecom analysts, industry experts and senior editorial teams from Capacity Media.
SEA-ME-WE 5 marine cable system, which covers more than 17 countries from Southeast Asia to Western Europe, is a technological breakthrough in the field of submarine cables. This device is designed to have a capacity of 24 terabits per second, with the ability to accommodate the growing demand for data usage.
The seamless SEA-ME-WE 5 submarine 100Gbps technology will meet the quadruple bandwidth demand between Europe and Asia. Moreover, the submarine cable system can provide the lowest latency. That way Telin can provide better service and quality.
